Santos Antolin Cruz Obituary, Death – The individual who tragically lost his life following a collision with an almond tree on Highway 43 on June 15 has been identified as 23-year-old Santos Antolin Cruz, a resident of Wasco.
At approximately 9:08 p.m., officials from the Kern County coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol reported that Cruz was operating a Honda in a northbound direction on Highway 43, situated north of Wasco Avenue, at an unspecified speed.
According to the CHP, for reasons that remain unclear, the Honda veered left across the southbound lanes of traffic and exited the main roadway. The vehicle continued in a northwestern trajectory, collided with an almond tree within an orchard, and subsequently overturned.
The coroner confirmed that Cruz succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An investigation by the coroner’s office concluded that the cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the incident was classified as an accident.
