Seth Talob Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the driver involved in a fatal head-on collision that claimed two lives in Jones County. The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that 22-year-old Seth Talob of Morehead City was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
The accident occurred in the early morning hours of March 9, at approximately 3:50 a.m., on Highway 70 near mile marker 392 in Dover. According to investigators, Talob was driving a Honda Civic westbound in the eastbound lanes, traveling at a normal rate of speed but in the wrong direction.
At the same time, 37-year-old Satisha Ward was heading east in a Dodge Hornet, also at a normal speed, when Talob’s vehicle collided with hers head-on.
Authorities say a state trooper from New Bern had been alerted to the wrong-way driver and attempted to intervene. However, the officer was unable to reach the location in time to prevent the crash.
The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, and tragically, both Talob and Ward were pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine why Talob was driving in the wrong direction.
