Sheena Fitzgerald Obituary, Death – One person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Route 28, according to a release from Pennsylvania State Police. The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. when a Dodge Challenger, driven by Sheena Fitzgerald, was speeding southbound on Route 28. Fitzgerald attempted to pass a Ford F-350 but struck its bumper, causing her to lose control of the Challenger. The vehicle veered off the road, crossed into the center median, and continued across it.
Fitzgerald’s car then hit a guardrail in the northbound lanes, became airborne, and collided with the hood and windshield of a Dodge Dart. Following this, the Challenger was struck by a Hyundai Kona traveling northbound. Fitzgerald was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jonathan Sands, the driver of the Hyundai Kona, was seriously injured and taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. The drivers of the Dodge Dart and Ford F-350 were unharmed.
Emergency crews cleared the scene by around 11:30 a.m.
