Sheree Ann Kelly Obituary, Death: A three-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman. Authorities identified the victim as Sheree Ann Kelly of Duncanville.
The collision occurred around 4:10 p.m. in the 6900 block of University Boulevard East. According to police spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor, all three vehicles involved were traveling eastbound at the time of the crash.
Kelly was driving behind a Honda Accord, which had stopped at the intersection of Hurricane Road while waiting to make a left turn. She was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the Honda. Moments later, another driver—who had just assisted Kelly in jump-starting her truck—was unable to brake in time and struck the back of her vehicle.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Kelly was pronounced dead on-site.
The driver and front-seat passenger of the Honda Accord sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit has launched an investigation into the crash to determine any additional factors that may have contributed to the accident.
Community and Safety Concerns
Kelly’s death serves as a reminder of the dangers of sudden stops and rear-end collisions. Officials urge drivers to remain vigilant, maintain safe following distances, and be prepared for unexpected traffic changes.
As the investigation continues, authorities encourage anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
