Steven Ray McKinney Obituary, Death – A motorcyclist who died after his bike reportedly malfunctioned on a busy highway has been identified as 32-year-old Steven Ray McKinney.
The fatal crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Friday when police responded to an accident on Interstate 37 near Braunig Lake. Authorities say McKinney was traveling northbound near the 18300 block of I-37 when his motorcycle experienced a mechanical failure.
As a result, he lost control, veering off the roadway and crashing into a barrier. The impact threw him from his bike, and he was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Investigators from the San Antonio Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigations unit are examining the circumstances of the crash. Early findings suggest that speed was not a contributing factor.
