Tod Lonergan, Lisa Lonergan Obituary, Death – Scottsdale police have confirmed that the three people found dead in a suspected murder-suicide were members of the same family.
Authorities identified the victims as 51-year-old Tod Lonergan, his wife, 46-year-old Lisa Lonergan, and their 15-year-old daughter, Sophia Lonergan. Their bodies were discovered around 10 a.m. on March 26 at their home near Indian Bend Road and Via De La Sendero. The tragic discovery was made during a welfare check requested by a concerned coworker after one of the family members failed to show up for work and did not respond to calls.
When officers arrived at the residence and were unable to make contact, they entered the property. Inside, they found a grim scene—two bodies in the backyard and a third inside the home. According to police, all three had suffered gunshot wounds.
Scottsdale police spokeswoman Sgt. Alisson Sempsis confirmed to The Arizona Republic that the deceased were a husband, wife, and their teenage daughter.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the official cause of death, as the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting further examinations. While police suspect the case to be a murder-suicide, they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
