Troy Floyd. McComb Obituary, Death – A police officer from Summit was fatally shot on Thursday, while an officer from McComb sustained injuries during the incident. According to the Enterprise-Journal, the individual suspected of the shooting has been killed.
The publication identified the deceased officer as Troy Floyd. McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy verified that the officer’s remains were sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab located in Pearl.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has acknowledged the officer-involved shooting, although further details have not been released.
The Enterprise-Journal also reported that McComb Officer Joey Roberts returned fire after being shot in the leg. The incident occurred at a grocery store on Highway 51, which was cordoned off on Thursday afternoon.
