Tyler Lee Smith Obituary – The victim in the fatal collision involving a motorcyclist and an Amazon semi-trailer on State Road 2 has been identified by authorities. Tyler Lee Smith, a 29-year-old resident of Baroda, Michigan, sustained critical injuries and passed away at the hospital, as reported by the Fatal Crash Team (FACT).
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 2 and Chapel Lane. Initial findings from investigators indicate that the driver of the semi was making a U-turn on State Road 2 when the motorcycle, operated by Smith, collided with the trailer.
Fortunately, the driver of the semi did not sustain any injuries and fully cooperated with the authorities. Based on the preliminary investigation, there were no indications of impairment involved in the crash.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team continues to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
