Tyrell Willigar Obituary, Death – A tragic car accident in Lewiston late Wednesday night claimed the lives of a young man and an infant, while the baby’s mother remains in critical condition.
Lewiston police responded to a crash near 393 Grove St. around 10:45 p.m. after receiving a report that a vehicle had veered off the road and struck a tree. Upon arrival, first responders found the driver, 20-year-old Tyrell Willigar of Brunswick, deceased at the scene.
Two passengers in the vehicle, 7-month-old Kinsley Willigar and her mother, 20-year-old Adaysia Read, were critically injured. Emergency crews transported both to Central Maine Medical Center before transferring them to Maine Medical Center in Portland for further treatment.
By Thursday morning, authorities were informed that baby Kinsley had succumbed to her injuries, while her mother remained in critical condition.
The Lewiston Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Criminal Investigation Division are conducting an investigation into the crash. Initial findings suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor.
